This 2 day course focuses on the range of motion, strength and motor experiences that contribute to upright stance and functional walking in children with neuromotor dysfunction. Developmental biomechanics and atypical motor development will be considered as we combine soft tissue elongation, handling techniques, balance training and sensory processing intervention to support our clients in achieving increased function in standing and walking. The use and selection of orthotics to enhance the functioning of the lower extremities will also be discussed. The course format will combine lecture, handling labs, treatment demonstrations and video problem solving sessions.
