Dynamic Relationships in Postural Control and Development

Postural control is said to be the foundation of functional motor skills. This 1/2-day presentation explores dynamic systems theory as a paradigm for understanding the complexity of postural control and motor skill development. The model emphasizes an expanded number of components and the dynamic relationships between these components. The clinical application of this contemporary model will be developed as it pertains to assessment of postural control in children with sensory and motor challenges.
